Slow Marching Band - Jethro Tull (1982)
"Slow Marching Band" was released in the spring of 1982 on Jethro Tull's 14th studio album, The Broadsword and the Beast. This is one of Ian's favorite Tull albums and mine too! The Broadsword and the Beast was the last in the string of 7 albums (starting with Minstrel in the Gallery) that were released in the 7 years between 1975 and 1982 which make up the Jethro Tull albums that I've always been most fond of.I always thought "Slow Marching Band" was such a beautiful and sad song. Thanks as always for checking out the videos....I hope you enjoy it.Credit and huge thanks to BFI's clip of Manchester Band of Hope Procession (1901). Please check out more of their amazing channel and incredible videos!https://www.youtube.com/user/BFIfilms[Lyrics]Would you join a slow marching band? And take pleasure in your leavingas the ferry sails and tears are driedand cows come home at evening.Could you get behind a slow marching band? And join together in the passingof all we shared through yesterdaysin sorrows neverlasting.Take a hand and take a bow.You played for me; that's all for now, oh, and nevermind the words just hum along and keep on going.Walk on slowly --- don't look behind you.Don't say goodbye, love. I won't remind you.Dream of me as the nights draw coldstill marking time through Winter. You paid the piper and called the tuneand you marched the band away.Take a hand and take a bow.You played for me; that's all for now, oh, and nevermind the words just hum along and keep on going.Walk on slowly --- don't look behind you.Don't say goodbye, love. I won't remind you.
